Critical Role Season Four Introduces the Warriors Table

Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, evil spirits, and sinister influences growing in strength within the city.

Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season are included.

The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed

Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and presented the first table of characters who will branch out from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.

The combat-focused team features Teor (played by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).

Why Split the Party?

With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Questers.

What Defines the Warrior Group

Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.

Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might appear out of place, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.

Why They Must Go

To begin with, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.

A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, striking the character, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.

The traitor then paid off his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, north of the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.

Individual Reasons

Additionally, each adventurer has a individual motive to exit Dol-Makjar:

  • The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, wants retribution.
  • The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a hostile place.
  • The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to execute the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
  • Yet, their status as important members in House Halovar could assist the team enter places they normally couldn’t.
  • Additionally, The grateful character pledged a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him anywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:

  • Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
  • The warrior and Wicander turned against the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
  • Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.

This results in them few options but to travel to the remote area in quest for Casimir.

Upcoming Developments

According to the recent installment’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the other eight cast members to round up the Questers and Schemers groups.

Viewers can look forward to learning which adventurers will be in which group in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on October 24.
